siru keerai raita, siru keerai semi gravy

 INGREDIENTS


Ginger.                      1/2 inch
Small onions.             20
Tomatoes.                   4
Siru keerai.                  2 bowls
Curd.                             500 ml
Cumin seeds.           2 tsp
Salt
Grated coconut.          4 tsp
Green chili.                 4

PREPARATION

Cut small onions, tomatoes, green chili, ginger and finely chop the spinach.  Grind tomatoes, ginger, cumin seeds and green chili.  Boil the chopped spinach with some water and boil it.  In a curd, add tomatoes paste, boiled spinach and salt in it.  If required you can add grated coconut, coriander leaves, carrot for more taste and flavor.

SIRU KEERAI SEMI GRAVY

INGREDIENTS

Mustard seeds.                 2 tsp
Pepper.                               2 tsp
Salt
Cumin seeds.                 2 tsp
Siru keerai.                         2 bowls
Small onions.                    15
Tomatoes.                          4
Dried red Chili.                  6
Moong dhal.                      100g

PREPARATION

Wash and chop the greens, Onions, tomatoes and place it in a bowl.  Take a cooker and fill with moong dhal, water, turmeric, spinach.  After three whistles, Check all the ingredients are nicely cooked.

In a pan, pour 5 tsp of oil, Mustard seeds, pepper, cumin seeds, dry red Chili, Onions and tomatoes.  Cook for few minutes.  Pour the cooker contents and stir it.  Finally sprinkle some salt, coriander leaves and boil it.  After few minutes, turn off the flame and serve hot with white rice.
